Sound Bar Quick Guide

Installing and using the Product

  1. a Connect the sound bar to your TV via an optical cable or an HDMI cable.

  4. D Rear Speakers / Wireless Receiver (Sold separately, SPQ8-S)
  5. E Wireless Subwoofer - Install it close to the sound bar.
  6. F External Device - (Blu-ray player, game console, etc.)
  1. b If you are using an external device (ex. Set-top box, Blu-ray player, game console, etc.), connect it to the sound bar or to the TV via an HDMI cable.
  2. c If you purchased the rear speakers and wireless receiver separately, connect the rear speakers to the wireless receiver via a speaker cable. When connecting the rear speakers to the wireless receiver, connect the black striped cable to the negative terminal of each speaker and the remaining cable to the positive terminal of each speaker.
  3. d Connect to power in the following order: wireless subwoofer [ wireless receiver [ sound bar. Then, turn on the sound bar. When the connection is automatically established with the sound bar, the LEDs on the wireless subwoofer and the wireless receiver will light up in green. ([ See “Connecting the Product on page 6.)
  4. e Using the product with your TV ([ See “Connecting with an Optical Cable”, “Connecting with an HDMI Cable”, “Connecting via Bluetooth”, “Connecting an external device via HDMI A on page 36, 38, 40, 41.)
  5. A Press the Function86575.png button repeatedly until LED1 and LED2 light up white. If you are using an external device that is connected to HDMI™ IN on the sound bar, press the Function131155.png button repeatedly until LED1 and LED3 light up white.
  6. B On your TV's settings, set the output speaker to [HDMI ARC], [Optical], or [External Speaker].
  7. f Connecting the product to your smartphone via Wi-Fi ([ See “Connecting with a Smartphone via Wi-Fi on page 17.)
  8. A Connect your smartphone to Wi-Fi.
  9. B Install the LG Sound Bar app on Google Play or the App Store.
  10. C Run the LG Sound Bar app and follow the instructions.
  11. D The product will connect to your smartphone and you can control the product with LG Sound Bar app.
  12. g Connecting the product to your smartphone via Bluetooth ([ See “Connecting via Bluetooth on page 45.)
  13. A Tap the Settings86634.png button on your smartphone and select 92023.pngBluetooth. Turn on the Bluetooth function. (86619.pngOff > 86612.pngOn)
  14. B Press the Bluetooth pair91388.png button. After a moment, LED2 blinks blue.
  15. C Find and tap “LG_Speaker_SC9S_XXXX” or the name you registered on the Google Home app.
  16. D When the product is connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth, all LEDs light up blue.

Manually connecting the sound bar to the wireless subwoofer or wireless receiver ([ See “Connecting the wireless subwoofer manually”, “Manual connection on page 8, 10.)

If you see a red LED on the wireless subwoofer or on the front of the wireless receiver, it means that the sound bar is not connected to the speakers. If this is the case, connect them in the following order.

  1. A Press the Power91492.png button on the sound bar to turn it off.
  2. B Press the Pairing (PAIRING) button on the back of the disconnected wireless subwoofer or wireless receiver. Check if each LED blinks green.
  • If you still see a red LED on the wireless subwoofer, press and hold the button on the back of the subwoofer again.
  1. C Press the Power91486.png button on the sound bar to turn it on.
  2. D When the connection is established, you will see a green LED light on the wireless subwoofer or on the front of the wireless receiver light up in green.
